Yes, a very light one. For our formula to achieve an SPF 15 rating it requires less zinc oxide in the formula. One particular ingredient (the Polyhydroxystearic acid - it is natural and safe) is added especially for the zinc oxide, it suspends and disperses the zinc oxide evenly minimizing any white shadowing effect.
Yes, they have an expiration date because all sunscreen products are regulated by the FDA, and the FDA sets the expiration date at two years from production. Do they really 'expire'? No, in fact the active ingredient (the sunblocker) is zinc oxide which is a mineral and does not expire or lose its effectiveness. Our zinc oxide based lip balms will continue to protect your lips even after the expiration date. Our formula is very stable and will last many years.
It is smooth and glides on nicely and it moisturizes, it lasts, and it is SPF tested. The light coconut aroma is pleasant but far from overwhelming, and it truly leaves very little white shadowing from the zinc oxide. It feels good on your lips. Appearance is smooth with just a slight sheen. No glossy shine or strange colors.

Yes, our SPF 15 lip balm is untinted, it will only leave a very light white shadow - which is the natural zinc oxide reflecting and delfecting light and UV rays. Our zinc oxide lip balm provides broad spectrum UVA and UVB lip protection and is for Men, Women, and Children. Note: those who do wish to apply colored lip stick or lip gloss - no problem, our SPF 15 lip balm works as a good base.
The zinc oxide does make the consistency slightly thicker than a natural lip balm without zinc oxide, or a lip balm with chemical sunscreens, but it is still smooth. Never too thick, chalky, dry, or pasty. It glides on smooth at room temperature or at body/pocket temperature.
